Iris Alice Springs

Iris Australia supports 2 programs run by Iris Alice Springs that aid in the direct relief of poverty in Central Australia.

  1. 2 x weekly community meals on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons for people living in Aboriginal town camps.  We can feed anywhere up to 150-200 per week and spend about $100 per meal on ingredients every week


  2. A clothing distribution program that began in 2019 when it was noticed that many people were getting very sick with pneumonia and even dying of exposure at this time of the year when the weather got cold.  A ministry on the Sunshine Coast partners with Iris Alice Springs  and trucks bales of warm clothes and blankets that are distributed in Alice Springs and remote communities throughout central Australia.  The ongoing expenses with this program involve storage and transport/fuel costs.
